Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program

The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program provides housing opportunities for low-and-moderate income families through a public/private partnership. The Greenwood Housing Authority has administered this federally housing program since 1975. Property owners enter into a contract with the Authority to provide housing assistance payments on behalf of eligible families. Staff determines eligibility and manages contracts, certifies that units meet federal housing quality standards, mediates tenant/landlord relations, and issues monthly Housing Assistance Payments.
